Session 2 of the Moviemaking Merit Badge.

In this session we will be talking about careers opportunities in moviemaking.  You'd be surprised at how many people are involved in the production of one film!  Those credits at the end of a movie acknowledge all of the crews involved in making the movie you just watched.  They include producers, directors, cast, writers, editors, set and costume designers, special effects, music composer, etc.   We will be learning about the education, training, and experience necessary for some of the most common career choices in the industry.  Perhaps you will find your future career here!

One of the requirements for this MB is is to visit a production studio OR discuss the elements of a zoom lens.  For everyone's health and safety we will not be visiting a production studio, so we will go over the zoom lens instead.  Perhaps at a later date we could arrange a little field trip to a studio just so you have the opportunity to see some real professional equipment.  

And finally we will be going over your treatments that you completed as homework.  If you are satisfied with your idea we will start storyboarding.  This is where you draw a few sketches so you have a starting point when you go to begin filming.
