This will be the first of two sessions for the Moviemaking Merit Badge.  In this first class we will learn a little bit about the history of movie making and then watch a few videos and discuss the elements of a good motion picture or film.  Topics will include visual storytelling, rhythm, the 180-degree axis rule, camera movement, framing and composition of camera shots, and lens selection.  

We will also talk about the types of programs you are allowed to create for your final presentation.  Homework for this class will be to write a treatment about what you plan to film.  This is basically just a very rough draft of your idea but should include a summary of your story & a brief description of your characters.
