Here are some of the key areas specific to the various merit badge requirements that should be included in your presentation: \n1. Garden project:  \nWhat did you decide to grow and why? (requirement #2) \nWhat challenges did you have and how did you overcome them (requirement #1B & #7) \nWhat would you have done differently? Explain (#2 observations) \nHow did you and your family benefit from the garden? \nWould you garden in the future? Why or why not? (No right answer here…) \n2. Special project: (Requirement #8) \nWhat project did you select and why? \nWhat changes did you make during the observation period? DESCRIPTION:Hi Philmont 2021 Crew\, \nI am reaching out to schedule our first training hike for next Sunday\, 8/30. Michelle has already begun to put together a monthly training plan\, but she is on vacation this week and I wanted to get this on everyone's calendars before we all booked up. \nWe will be hiking the Hazel River & Sam's Ridge loop\, which is a moderate hike in Shenandoah National Park..  The distance is a 6.7 miles and rated as moderate.  If you have the All Trails App\, you can find the hike at this link (https://www.alltrails.com/explore/trail/us/virginia/hazel-mountain-via-hazel-river-and-sam-s-ridge-loop ). \nAs we lead up to Philmont\, we need to condition our bodies to hike with weight.  I would recommend you bring a pack that is at least 25% the weight of the full pack you will be carrying at Philmont.   \nFully loaded packs should not exceed 30% of your body weight. If you weigh 100 pounds\, your fully loaded pack would weight 30 pounds.  For this hike you would target to carry at least 7.5 pounds.  One liter of water weighs about 2.2 pounds\, so most of the weight for this hike will probably be liquid\, however you should also bring snacks and a bag lunch. \nWe will meet at Trailside Middle School at 7:00 am and will depart at 7:15 am.  It should take about 1 1/2 hours to reach the trailhead and we expect to return back to Trailside Middle around 2:00 pm.   \nI will follow this up with a Troop Track Calendar event\, if you could please go to the calendar event and RSVP\, I would appreciate it. \nYiS\, \nMr. Anderson

DESCRIPTION:Session 2 of the Moviemaking Merit Badge. \nIn this session we will be talking about careers opportunities in moviemaking.  You'd be surprised at how many people are involved in the production of one film!  Those credits at the end of a movie acknowledge all of the crews involved in making the movie you just watched.  They include producers\, directors\, cast\, writers\, editors\, set and costume designers\, special effects\, music composer\, etc.   We will be learning about the education\, training\, and experience necessary for some of the most common career choices in the industry.  Perhaps you will find your future career here! \nOne of the requirements for this MB is is to visit a production studio OR discuss the elements of a zoom lens.  For everyone's health and safety we will not be visiting a production studio\, so we will go over the zoom lens instead.  Perhaps at a later date we could arrange a little field trip to a studio just so you have the opportunity to see some real professional equipment.   \nAnd finally we will be going over your treatments that you completed as homework.  If you are satisfied with your idea we will start storyboarding.  This is where you draw a few sketches so you have a starting point when you go to begin filming.
