DESCRIPTION:https://scoutingevent.com/082-wdciolsIOLS is a hands-on course for adult leaders to work together in a patrol to learn the practical skills needs to lead Scouts in the outdoors.  The course builds and expanse upon the themes and concepts introduced in Scoutmaster/Assistant Scoutmaster Position Specific Training.  Upon completion of the course\, leaders should feel comfortable teaching Scouts the basic skills required to obtain the ranks up to First Class.This course partially fulfills the training requirement for Scoutmasters\, Assistant Scoutmasters\, Venturing Advisors and Assistant Venture Advisors.  Who should attend: Scoutmasters\, Assistant Scoutmasters\, Crew Advisors\, Associate Crew Advisors\, Troop Committee members and other adult volunteers affiliated interested in helping their units with basic advancement skills and outdoor activities.  you must be registered with Scouting America and your Youth Protection Training current to attend this training .  When: 8:00 am (EST) Saturday\, May 31\, 2025 through 12:00 pm (EST) Sunday\, June 1\, 2025.Where:  Camp Synder\, 6100 Antioch Road\, Haymarket\, VA 20169.Cost: $39.00. Pre-registration is required. No walk-ins please. Registration closes on midnight May 28\, 2025.What to Bring:  A completed Scouting America Medical Form (Parts A&B)\, which will be returned at check-out\, and the following personal gear:Tent\, Sleeping clothes\, Tent\, Sleeping Pad\, Camp Chair\, Pocket Knife\, Compass\, Flashlight\, Notebook with pen or pencil\, Personal kit\, Uniform Shirt\, Outer clothing suitable for the weather\, Your favorite drinking cup\, The Handbook for your registered positionAccommodations:  You will be sleeping outside in tents. If you have a special need or mobility issue\, please bring it to our attention by emailing the course director.Food:  Participants will be provided lunch\, dinner and a cracker barrel on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday. Please eat breakfast Saturday morning before arriving to the course.
