SUMMARY:Service: Cedar Lane Spring Carnival
DESCRIPTION:The Cedar Lane Spring Carnival will be held on Saturday\, June 8th from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM. This is sure to be the biggest event of the school year!!! That being said\, the PTA cannot put on an event of this size without volunteers. The PTA is in need of volunteers to run carnival games\, supervise common areas\, and/or assist with crowd control. Responsible middle and high school students are welcome. Set up and clean up assistance is also needed. SUMMARY:Philmont Crew Training Hike/Overnight
DESCRIPTION:For our June training hike/overnight (Saturday June 8)\, we will be hiking a portion of the AT (from Ashby Gap to the Rod Hollow Shelter area).  https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/virginia/ashby-gap-to-rod-hollow-shelter?u=i&sh=mm6arjWe will be getting a later start that Saturday (around 2pm-ish) and hiking approximately 4 miles in before setting up camp.  Once we set up camp\, we have the option of hiking a bit further into the roller coaster portion of the AT.  You should be hiking with a full pack for this outing.  Check your Guidebook (p. 20) for an idea of what to pack.  You should also be packing between 3 and 4 liters of water.  You will need a tent buddy – with 9 scouts\, we will have one group of 3.  See Grant’s text about this.  We will provide dinner\, breakfast\, and some snacks.
