DESCRIPTION:Philmont 2021 Crew Training Overnight Backpacking Trip \nLocation: Bear's Den to Ashby Gap (https://www.alltrails.com/explore/trail/us/virginia/bears-den-to-ashby-gap ) \nDistance: 13.5 Miles \nDeparture Time: We will meet at Trailside by 5:00pm on Friday 11/6 and and depart by 5:30pm.  We will camp the first night at Bear’s Den\, wake up and hike about 1/2 way on Saturday\, camp\, then hike out Sunday. \nReturn Time: We should return in the evening around 4:00pm on November 8th \nPack Weight: 100% of Full Load \nWhat to bring: This will be our first overnight hike.  Our pack weights should be 100% or 30% of our body weight.  Scouts should eat dinner Friday before we leave\, bring two breakfast meals\, one two lunch meals and one dinner.  Bring at least two liters of water. \nWe will camp in our own separate tents.

SUMMARY:Scouting for Food Collection and Drop Off
DESCRIPTION:Hello Troop 58\, \nScouting for Food is this coming Friday and Saturday benefiting Loudoun Hunger Relief.  This will be a different format than last year as we will not receive sponsorship from the district\, and we will not go door-to-door.  We will instead use social media to notify residents in Lansdowne\, Belmont\, and Ashburn Village to drop food off at four locations Scout homes (Khalili's\, Savar\, Levine's\, and OShen) all day Friday and St. Davids' church Saturday Morning 9-11AM.  \nWe will need Scouts for the following: \nSt. Davids – 9-11AM– Traffic direction (2 Scouts)– Food unload from cars (4 Scouts) \nThe response and amount of donated food is unpredictable so we may need some assistance to deliver the food to Loudoun Hunger located on 750 MILLER DRIVE by the Leesburg Airport; Loudoun Hunger is open Saturday mornings through 12 Noon.
